Ploumanac'h

Ploumanac'h

To the west side of Perros-Guirec is the scenic port of Ploumanac’h, with its own beach, bustling shops, cafés and reasonably priced restaurants with friendly service.

There are fishing trips and boat excursions to the bird sanctuary at Les Sept Iles which leave from the port. There is also a scuba diving centre located along the walk from Ploumanac’h to Perros-Guirec.

The walk from Ploumanac’h to Perros-Guirec is along the cliffs edge on the old customs path, 'Le Sentier des Douaniers'. There are enormous pink granite boulders at every turn, sculpted into strange and unusual shapes by the forces of nature. The more adventurous may want to climb amongst the giant boulders.

The sea views all along the walk are breathtaking whatever the weather. In winter the rugged granite coastline makes for spectacular storm scenery with the waves crashing against the rocks and the lighthouse.

Along the walk you will see the Maison du Littoral, which has good informative displays about how the rocks were formed, as well as information about the regional fauna and flora.
