Perros Guirec is a short 15 minute drive North West from Langoat. Just before entering Perros Guirec you will pass through the pretty village of Louannec, itself a small resort in its own right.
Perros Guirec is the largest and most popular holiday resort on the Côtes d'Armor, formed around what was once a fishing harbour. The town, though much larger than the old port, still surrounds the harbour, which is full of boats and is extremely picturesque.
There are two main beaches in the town, Plage de Trestignel and the larger Plage de Trestraou, both of which are beautiful sandy beaches. At Plage de Trestraou you will find a sailing centre where you can hire windsurf equipment and sail boats, such as Lasers and Optimists. Lessons are also available.
Perros is a very lively resort full of many grand hotels, marinas, a thalasso-therapy centre, casino and nightclubs. There are many shops to browse round in Perros as well as a good selection of creperies and restraunts in which you can enjoy a leisurely lunch or evening meal.
Les Sept Iles (The seven islands), which lie just offshore are a sanctuary for seabirds and therefore visited by ornithologists from all over the world. Some of the islands are protected and as such access is not permitted by the general public, however, the largest of the islands 'Ile aux Moines' can be visited. The island is home to tens of thousands of auks, gannets and guillemots, the island also contains a lighthouse and a 17th century fort.
